Sara (VanderHorst) Allard fell in love with the game of basketball, growing up a father that coached basketball at the collegiate and high school level. Competing in all sports growing up, but ultimately fell in love with basketball. Playing for her dad at Amador Valley High School, Sara was a four-time All-State selection and went on to play division 1 level at the University of San Diego.
Her love and enthusiasm for basketball naturally led her to coaching. Sara spent 3 years assisting and mentoring the next generation of female athletes at national basketball powerhouse, La Jolla Country Day. Taking her knowledge and experience after working alongside mentor Terri Bamford, Sara went on to grow and developed her own basketball program at Pacific Ridge School, running the middle school programs and coaching varsity girls basketball for the last 10 years.
Now with two little kids, Sara looks to take her same contagious enthusiasm for the game and channel it into the younger generation. She is passionate about creating authentic relationships with each player. Sara's favorite part of coaching is seeing players buy, trust the process and reap the benefits of their hard work.
